05.08.2021 Lindemans Lambic Tour celebrates 5th edition with new tracks for biking & hiking

Lindemans Brewery organized its first ‘Lindemans Lambic Tour’ on Car free Sunday in 2015. Covid stopped last year’s edition from happening. With the Lindemans Lambic Tour, the brewery wants to promote more sustainable means of transportation, as it depends heavily on the air quality for brewing its characteristic lambic beers. You can register for the event at www.lindemanslambictour.be.

New to the 2021 edition of the Lindemans Lambic Tour is the addition of 3 new routes. Where previous editions only had 1 circular track, the 2021 version will have 4 signposted routes: 2 for bikers, and 2 for hikers. There is the ‘classic’ route departing from either the brewery or in Brussels. This cycling route takes you along Brussels’ architectural Art Nouveau treasures in the city center, combined with the lush green landscapes in the Senne River Valley. Note it will be Car free Sunday, so you will get to experience Brussels without any traffic

The 3 new routes all depart from the brewery and take you through the beautiful Senne River Valley and the Pajottenland, home of the unique wild growing yeasts that give the Lindemans lambic beers their specific taste. Participants of the Pajottenland routes of the Lindemans Lambic Tour, have exceptional access to the Museum Garden in the domain of Gaasbeek. There are limited guided tours in the Museum Garden. More infiormation on www.lindemanslambictour.be.

All that exercise might make people thirsty, so of course Lindemans is providing the necessary refreshing beers and drinks both at the brewery in Vlezenbeek and in Brussels.

With more than 1.000 participants in 2019, Lindemans Lambic Tour hopes to welcome even more bikers & hikers with the 3 new routes. Registrations are open on www.lindemanslambictour.be. Pre-registered participants pay 5€, last-minute deciders on the spot pay 7€ (both of which include insurance, a detailed map of the signposted routes, a free refreshments coupon and a present).

Sustainable lambic brewery

Lindemans Brewery applies sustainability and mobility in its policy. Sustainability and recycling natural resources is very high on the daily agenda at the brewery, as the unique microorganisms in the air of the Senne River Valley and the Pajottenland are the main reason why lambic beer can only be brewed in those regions.

The brewery also resolutely opted for inland shipping in order to transport export containers from Brussels to the Port of Antwerp. "In this way we limit the number of trucks on the road, we do our bit to solve the mobility problem and we reduce our CO2 emissions," says Dirk Lindemans and Geert Lindemans.
