08.08.2024 Lindemans Brewery wins five medals at the 2024 World Beer Awards

This Wednesday evening, the prestigious World Beer Awards 2024 in London announced the 'Country Winners.' Lindemans Brewery won no fewer than five medals, awarded by an international jury that evaluates the best beers in the world. Lindemans Pure Oude Gueuze – made with 7-year-old lambic – received a silver medal, as did Lindemans Goyck and Lindemans Tarot Noir. Lindemans Oude Kriek Cuvée René and Lindemans Tarot d’Or were awarded bronze medals.

Lindemans Pure Oude Gueuze 2017 (7% vol.), the latest gem among Lindemans beers, was awarded silver in the 'Gueuze' category. This Limited Edition of 12,000 bottles is the result of seven years of pure craftsmanship: old lambic aged in oak foeders and naturally re-fermented in the bottle. With its deep golden color, sherry-like aroma, and sparklingly complex, fresh-sour taste, this is the ultimate Gueuze for true beer enthusiasts.

Lindemans Goyck (5.5% vol.) won silver in the 'Sour & Wild Ale' category. This golden blond beer surprises with a lightly malty and hoppy character, with hints of citrus and grapefruit. The taste is pleasantly light and fresh, with a beautiful balance between bitter and sour, ending with a softly bitter, dry finish.

Lindemans Tarot Noir (8% vol.) and Lindemans Tarot d’Or (8% vol.) were awarded in the 'Fruit Lambic' category. These strong, alcoholic fruit beers with low sugar content and natural ingredients and aromas are the result of a harmonious blend of top-fermentation beer, lambic, and fruit.

Tarot Noir, awarded silver, has a deep ruby red color and a fruity character with dark berries including blueberries, blackcurrants, and elderberries. Tarot d’Or, which won bronze, reveals exotic flavors of mango, lime, and honeydew melon. Both beers have a pleasant, fruity aroma and a balanced, somewhat complex taste.

Lindemans Oude Kriek Cuvée René (7% vol.), the most refined beer within the Lindemans range, won bronze in the 'Kriek' category. Brewed according to the traditional method with the rare Schaerbeek cherries, this ruby red beer has an intense aroma with nuances of traditional cherries and almonds. The taste is a harmonious balance of fruitiness, spiciness, and the fresh, dry finish of lambic.

Dirk and Geert Lindemans, the cousins at the helm of the centuries-old family brewery, are proud of the recognition. “We are particularly pleased with these awards, especially with the recognition for our Pure Oude Gueuze. This Gueuze, with its complex and refined taste that is the result of seven years of patience and craftsmanship, is a wonderful example of our tradition and expertise. We are proud to see that our dedication is recognized by an international jury.”

The award-winning Lindemans beers are available internationally. You can find them in specialized retail, hospitality venues, and online on the Lindemans webshop.
