Lindemans SpontanBasil is a unique Oude Gueuze from our Botanicals range, offering an unexpected twist on tradition. Infused with fresh basil, it combines the refreshing acidity of lambic with vibrant herbal notes for a refined and distinctive character. The result is a stunning concoction, golden in colour and naturally complex, with a distinct basil aroma and taste. It should not be a surprise that this basil beer pairs beautifully with Mediterranean-inspired dishes.

Our brewers’ secret

This refreshing Oude Gueuze starts with a blend of 1- to 3-year-old lambic, slowly aged in oak barrels, called foeders. Into this delicate base, we add freshly hand-cut basil, which gently infuses the beer with its bright and vibrant aromas. After bottling, this unique basil beer undergoes a second fermentation, giving it the lively sparkle of a true Oude Gueuze. The result is a harmonious balance between the refreshing tartness of lambic and the aromatic brightness of basil that we call Lindemans SpontanBasil.
